Civil Engineering Department Laboratories:

Laboratories play an extremely important role in Civil engineering education. The undergraduate courses are supplemented with an extensive laboratory work in order to furnish the student with a sufficient experimental experience in various fields of Civil engineering using the most modern techniques of measurements, instrumentations and analysis. The Civil Engineering Department laboratories are located in the Engineering College building. The laboratories have adequate equipment for carrying out experimental work for courses, senior projects, research projects and community service. Quality assurance is maintained through periodic evaluation programs in term of checking the calibration of the equipment and upgrading them to meet the demands. The laboratories serving the teaching and research activities within the department are as follows:

·         Soil Mechanics Laboratory.

·         Materials Laboratory.

·         Highway Laboratory.

·         Surveying Laboratory.

·         Sanitary and Environmental Engineering Laboratory.

·         Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulics Laboratory.

·         Computer Laboratory.

The laboratories and the activity therein contribute towards achieving the following ABET outcomes:

Outcome b: Students will be able to demonstrate the ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as analyze and interpret data.

Outcome k: Students will demonstrate the ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice.
